By Renee Hennessy, Preschool Director

Thank you to all who attended our Thanksgiving Luncheon. The food was delicious, and we know your child(ren) loved having you here! We certainly enjoyed mingling with everyone. Now, on to the next month of festivities!

Every year at this time we use the holiday season to introduce different cultures’ celebrations. Throughout this month and into January, the children will learn about different holiday traditions in the United States and abroad, and they’ll hear about Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and the Chinese New Year. One of our goals is to provide the children with a variety of multicultural experiences. We also invite parents to share their special holiday traditions with us. Let your child’s teacher know if you can visit the classroom.

Assorted notes and reminders:

  • Whenever you take your child(ren) to the doctor for immunization shots, please ask for an updated immunization certificate for the Preschool office. This will help keep our records current. Thank you.
  • On cold days, please send warm coats, gloves, and hats with your child(ren) so that they can play outdoors. Generally, teachers take our students outside unless it’s raining or in the teens or below.
  • Please label all of your child(ren)’s clothing and belongings they bring to School. Don’t fall victim to the bottomless lost and found pile.
  • We are currently processing your re-enrollment preference forms for the 2019-20 school year. The priority deadline for schedule changes is Saturday, December 15th.

Coat Drive to Benefit Keystone Learning Academy
Every holiday season we team up to help children and families at a Louisville childcare center, Keystone Learning Academy. Keystone Learning Academy provides care and support services to low-income families – families in which the parents typically are working but are still struggling to make ends meet.

Through our Parent Association, we collect new or gently used coats for children and adults at their center, as well as anyone in need in the neighboring community. Last year, we donated over 100 coats – we would love to exceed that number this year. The Coat Drive will continue through Friday, December 7th. The donation box is located in the Main Amp in front of the Preschool.
